Catasauqua: Summer concerts continue at the park

The rescheduled concerts from the free summer concert series will include Time Whys Sept. 15, Boondock Barons Sept. 22 and Third Hand Trio Sept. 29.

The bands perform 7-10 p.m. at the amphitheater at Catasauqua Park and Playground, 501 American St.

Get out your lawn chairs and blankets and settle in for a fun evening!

The Morning Glories of Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church will be singing the “Good Morning Song” and “Pass It On” at the worship service 10:30 a.m. Sept. 17 at the church, 604 Fourth St.

All members will meet 10 a.m. in the Alice Storch room.

The Morning Glories group will hold its 15th anniversary celebration meeting 10 a.m. Sept. 18.

There will be a special remembrance ceremony for the five members who have passed away since the 10th anniversary.

There will be a drive to collect school supplies such as erasers, pencils, scissors, crayons, dry erase markers, pencil boxes and colored pencils for Catasauqua Area School District students.

Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church, 604 Fourth St., will be hosting a basket raffle 4-7 p.m. Oct. 6 and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Oct. 7.

Prizes include attractive theme baskets, gift certificates, plant and flower corner and other unique items. Tickets will be drawn Oct, 7, and winners will be notified by phone.

All proceeds will benefit Vet 2 Vet Service Dogs, which is a program that trains and teams a service dog with a veteran to live an independent lifestyle and to mentor other veterans who enter the program after them.
