Uptown Northampton Street Fair sets up on Main Sept. 9

There are good times to be had for residents of Northampton Borough and the surrounding area Sept. 9 as Northampton Area Chamber of Commerce presents the 34th annual Uptown Northampton Street Fair.

The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Main Street, between 17th and 21st streets.

Kate Hartney, coordinator of affiliated chambers, said there will be more than 100 craft and business vendors, live music, food trucks, rock climbing, giveaways and more.

Hartney said this event helps businesses and tourism and brings the community together. It’s a time for the whole community to celebrate and reconnect with each other.

There will be tours of the Roxy Theatre, a petting zoo for children from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and live music at the Gin Mill and Grille, 1750 Main St. There will also be plenty of food trucks.

The music headliner will be Trick Stacy, which covers hits from the 1970s, ’80s and ’90s. The band members guarantee a rocking time and to get the audience dancing. They perform 2:30-4 p.m. Third Hand will play 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. They are considered Lehigh Valley’s premier party trio.

There will be two beer tents from the Gin Mill and other adult beverages from Triple Sun Spirits, Clever Girl Winery, Lucci Family Wines Cellars and Sleepy Cat Urban Winery.

Demonstrations will take place from 3D Dance 11-11:30 a.m. and Elite Mixed Martial Arts 1:30-2 p.m.

There will be a variety of foods offered. Some of the vendors include Mattie’s Strudel Haus, Mon and Mel’s Sweet Scoops, Curdzone, Island Expressions, Greek Street, Slide on By, Smokehouse Food Truck, Kali Inc., Sweet Treat Funnel Cakes and Grub Night Food Truck.
