Scouts help bird project at Whitehall Parkway

Boy Scout Troop 12, Allentown, recently assisted Whitehall Township Environmental Advisory Council in completing the first phase of a bird watch project at Whitehall Parkway.

When completed in 2024, this area will offer viewers a place to observe birds feeding in a native plant garden.

The phase took place July 27-30 and involved removing vegetation and invasive species and laying mulch in a building ruin close to the Ironton Rail Trail. A wheelchair-accessible path was also constructed.

The following individuals from Troop 12 helped with the project: Aadit Kedia, Chandan Kedia, Jeff Rondeau, Mike Phillips, Brian Harman, Aadhavan Raja Nainar, Issac A. Lentz, Zain Matin and Haadi Matin. Also assisting from the township were Janet Minnich, Karen Poshefko, Fadi Salloum and Deb Rosene.
