The Friends of Northampton Area Public Library, the board of trustees and staff would like to give a great big thank you to Scouts Cub Pack 33 from Bath and organizers Tricia Shellhammer and Cassie Evanczik for weeding and cleaning up the outside of the library. Their hard work is very much appreciated and made the library grounds beautiful again. Thank you!

We would also like to wish a fond farewell and a hearty congratulations to Daisy Aptovka, who was this year’s recipient of the Friends of NAPL scholarship. She was a hardworking, exuberant library employee who is now off to start her college career at Penn State, Lehigh Valley campus.

The tween and teen autumn leaf mug kit pickup and adult wine cork apple or pumpkin kit pickup are both Sept. 11.

The Stitch and Chat group will meet 6-7 p.m. Sept. 12.

The library board is scheduled to meet 6:30 p.m. Sept. 14.

The egg carton apples kids’ craft bag begins Sept. 18.

Kids ages 5-10 can register for a 15-minute slot to read to Sunshine the therapy dog Sept. 21.

The Once Upon a Crime group, for ages 18 and older, meets 6-7 p.m. Sept. 25 to discuss bank robbery.

The Friends of NAPL group will meet 7 p.m. Sept. 26.

The Laid Back Book Club for adults will discuss “The Spectacular” by Fiona Davis.

We all know you’ve been waiting to hear more news about our annual autumn online auction and basket social. The auction begins 9 a.m. Oct. 1, and bidding goes through 11:59 p.m. Oct. 7.

The basket social is set for 6-8 p.m. Oct. 13.

Tickets went on sale Sept. 5 at the library. The presale special is buy three sheets, get one free.

Raffle winners will be called about their winnings starting Oct. 16.
