Mary Lou Romanyzyn, 80, of Emmaus, died Sept. 2, 2023, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Cedar Crest. She was the wife of Gregory Romanyzyn. Against the odds, he and his beloved Weezy found true love and she made all of his dreams come true. He will love her eternally. Born in Hazleton, she was the daughter of the late William and Anne (Grohman) Filbert.
Wees, as she was known to her friends and loved ones, cherished her family above all else.
She graduated from Hazleton High School and earned a bachelor’s degree at DeSales University.
She was an administrative assistant in the Lehigh County Domestic Relations Department.
She was an accomplished pianist and devoted choir member. She had an amazing way with flowers and plants and her home was filled with life. She often showed her love through cooking for her loved ones, most memorable were her delicious pierogi.
She is survived by her husband; daughters, Christine Winslow and her husband, Kevin; Susan Bush; Nicole Haines and her wife, Jodi Pollock; sister, Patricia Conway and her husband, Gary; Judith Jung and husband, Michael; grandchildren, Jarred Haines, Michael Winslow, Stephanie Berardi, Morgan Bush and Benjamin Bush. She was lovingly anticipating the birth of her first great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. Sept. 8 at the Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 225 Elm St., Emmaus. A calling hour will be held 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Sept. 8 in the funeral home.
