Despite our dogs’ hatred of baths, they persist in rolling in the grass and generating quite a stink. Up until now, they have demonstrated their dislike of baths in passive resistance. Daisy escalated the resistance last night. Lizzy won the award for Stinky Dog and went first. Matt came downstairs to get Daisy who in turn took one look at the sad and wet Lizzy and took off running for her crate. It took treats and cajoling to even get her out of her crate and then Matt had to drag her upstairs. So for now we have two sweet smelling dogs, but already I see them eying the yard for a good rolling spot!

The copy deadline for the Oct. 4 column will be Sept. 28.
