Farewell to Summer Festival Sept. 16

The Emmaus community is gearing up for the annual free Farewell to Summer Festival 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 16.

Held in Triangle Park and other spots in the center of the borough, the event “promises a day filled with vibrant festivities, local businesses, crafters, food delights, art activities and a chance to celebrate the community,” organizers said in a recent news release.

The event will feature children’s activities, music performances, food trucks, a family-friendly movie at the Emmaus Theatre, face painting and more.

Festival highlights include:

•Local Artisans and Businesses: Explore a wide array of booths featuring local artisans, crafters and businesses. Discover unique products that capture the essence of the borough’s creative spirit alongside local business organizations committed to community engagement.

•Food Trucks and Beverage Options: Indulge your taste buds with a diverse selection of food trucks offering a variety of culinary delights. From savory to sweet to thirst-quenching, there’s something for everyone.

•Scarecrow Trail: Throughout the day, the Scarecrow Trail will wind its way through the festival, inviting visitors to explore and experience local businesses, restaurants and artisans.

•Chalk the Walk with the Emmaus Arts Commission: The Emmaus Arts Commission will provide a sidewalk “canvas” for all ages to participate in this family-friendly art competition. Participants will have three hours to use sidewalk chalk to create their masterpiece based on the theme, “My Favorite Summer Activity.” At the end of the competition, community judges will review all submissions and choose the top three art pieces.

•The Emmaus Heritage Festival: Hosted by the Emmaus Historical Society, the event features visits to historic properties throughout the borough.

•Face painting by Funtastic Faces and Body Art.

•A family movie at the Emmaus Theatre, 19 S. Fourth St.

•Children’s story times, a tie-dye station, a martial arts demonstration, local mascots and more.
