St. John’s United Church of Christ, 1415 Rising Sun Road, Laurys Station, will be serving chicken barbecue dinners 4-6:30 p.m., for eat in, and 4-7 p.m. for take out on Sept. 9.

Meal includes half a chicken, baked potato, corn on the cob, lettuce with bacon dressing, beverage and dessert.

A children’s meal includes two drumsticks, macaroni and cheese, applesauce, cookie and a beverage will be available.

Advance tickets are recommended.

Union Lutheran Church, 550 Route 873, Schnecksville, will have a Book Fest 10 a.m. to noon Sept. 10, in the Family Life Center in the lower level of the church.

Choose from a variety of books, and take them home for free. Books for all ages will be available.

The library committee of Union Lutheran is sponsoring the Book Fest.

To donate books, call the church office at 610-767-6884 to arrange a time for drop off.

Only books in good condition with appropriate content will be accepted.
