The high school golf season got underway recently.

In a match from last week, Liberty took on Pleasant Valley and Pocono Mountain West in a quad match at the Pocono Hills Golf Course par-71.

The Hurricanes won the match with a score of 413. Pleasant Valley shot 446, Pocono West 446 and East Stroudsburg North 584

PV’s Lydon Pastascher shot 73 to lead the way. Ben Bush, also of PV, shot a 77. Liberty’s Jase Barker shot 79. Matt Ronca and Paul Erfle both shot 81 to help the ’Canes to victory.

Bethlehem Catholic recently took on Pleasant Valley at Bethlehem Municipal Golf Course.

The Hawks won 446-455.

For Beca, Ralston Rowlands shot 79, George Pavis 80, Derek Ostrosky 89, Luke Zeitner 96, Grady Miletics 102, Charlie Scanlan 112 and Peter Vallance had a 124.

For the Bears, Lydon Patascher shot 77, Ben Bush 84, Christian Knight 94, Austin Balanca 98, Mike Pomillio 102, Noah Conklin 105, Scotty Schenk 114 and Cole Speicler shot 121.

Around the rest of the EPC, Northampton picked up an early victory over Emmaus by 21 strokes but also edged Nazareth by one stroke That was a match many feel could have been a battle for the top spot in the EPC.
