BREAKING NEWS: State police investigating burglary in North Whitehall
The Pennsylvania State Police Troop M, Bethlehem, Criminal Investigation Unit is investigating a burglary in North Whitehall Township.
According to a news release from Trooper Nathan T. Branosky, at approximately 1:30 p.m. Aug. 30 troopers from State Police Bethlehem were dispatched to Spruce Street, North Whitehall Township, for the report of a burglary.
Upon investigation, it was determined the individual had his driveway redone a few months ago and was told by the company that completed the work it would return to seal coat the driveway.
On Aug. 29, a male arrived at the residence, operating a silver or light blue truck, and requested additional money, which was different from the original company’s quote, to seal coat the driveway.
On Aug. 30, a white male, described as thin built, in his 60’s, came to the individual’s residence reporting he was working for the “city” and wanted to show lines they would be installing in the rear of his property.
After speaking to the male, the man returned to his residence and later saw the safe in his bedroom had been broken into and valuables inside had been stolen. Troopers are reminding residents to keep their doors locked when leaving their house and be aware when unknown individuals request that you exit your house.
Anyone with information regarding his incident is asked to contact the Pennsylvania State Police Bethlehem Criminal Investigation Unit at 610-861-2026 and refer to Incident Number PA2023-1131806.
