Gloria M. Steager, 92, of Wayne, formerly of Emmaus, died Aug. 1, 2023, at The Wayne Center following a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Herbert and Marie (Bowersox) Moyer.

She graduated from William Allen High School in 1938. She worked as an office manager for a number of small businesses, until becoming a stay-at-home parent and an active volunteer in the local community.

Before entering The Wayne Center, she was a member of St. John’s U.C.C., Emmaus, volunteering across a number of groups in the church including the altar guild.

She is survived by a son, Eric L. and his wife, Kym; grandchildren, Keegan and Mackenzie; sister, Sandra Smoyer. She was predeceased by brothers, Carol Moyer and Robert Moyer, both of Allentown.

A Celebration of Life service will be held 11 a.m. Oct. 7 at St. John’s U.C.C., 139 N. Fourth St., Emmaus. Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus is handling arrangements.
