Eric Francis Bobal
Eric Francis Bobal, 63, of Macungie, died Aug. 22, 2023, peacefully in his home. He was the husband of Patricia (Roskoski) Bobal. They recently celebrated 37 years of marriage. Born in Rahway, N.J., he was the son of the late Francis and Miriam (Neder) Bobal.
He was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Council 12886, both in Emmaus.
He earned a bachelor’s degree from Rutgers College of Pharmacy, Class of 1982 and graduated from Woodbridge High School, Class of 1977.
He started his distinguished career in the pharmaceutical industry as a medical liaison with Upjohn pharmaceutical company.
From there, he dedicated most of his career as an associate director/executive team trainer at Merck, where he also was a site captain for the company blood drives. After a long tenure at Merck, he transitioned to Portola and Alexion, retiring from Astra Zeneca in 2022.
In his spare time, he loved learning and reading about history and enjoyed listening to The Beatles and Bruce Springsteen.
He was an active member in his community, helping out at the St. Ann’s Fall Fest, Knights of Columbus Bingo and coaching his children’s respective sporting teams.
He was a sports enthusiast and passionate fan of the LA Rams, LA Lakers, USC Trojans and the Detroit Tigers.
He is survived by his wife; sons, Kevin and his wife, Marr, Gregory and his significant other, Holly; granddaughter, Audriena; brother, Tom and his wife, Barb; sister, Jeannie; several loving aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
