The free summer concert series is slowly winding down. Sept. 1 will feature Flirtin’ with the Mob 7-10 p.m. at the amphitheater at Catasauqua Park and Playground, 501 American St. Get out your lawn chairs and blankets for a fun evening.

Growing beautiful dahlias is the topic of the Sept. 6 Catasauqua Garden Club meeting. Joe Veshinfsky, Master Gardener coordinator for Lehigh, Northampton and Carbon counties, is the grower and presenter.

The meeting will start 1 p.m. at Slovak Center Social Club, 1233 Fifth St., North Catasauqua. Members’ artistic and horticultural entries will be on display for judging.

Catasauqua Community Thrift Shop, 113 Bridge St., is having a half-price sale on everything in the store during September.

Shop hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays. The shop accepts donations of good, used, clean clothing and household items during regular hours.
