Assante restaurant, community celebrate 20 years in business

Assante Ristorante Italiano held a well-attended event Aug. 16 on a beautiful day under large tents set up beside the restaurant, located at 2050 Main St., Northampton. The event celebrated 20 years in business. The eatery’s grand opening was held in 2003.

The event was emceed by Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce.

Assante has flourished at the corner of Main and 21st streets in the borough. It was mentioned the business’ success is attributed to the elegant dining with a refined Italian cuisine in a relaxing, comfortable atmosphere. Assante is dedicated to the classic tastes and styles of Italian and Mediterranean fare.

The outdoor party included various foods, drinks, desserts and a basket raffle. Entertainment was performed by Allentown crooner Michael Sherer, who sang a variety of love songs and ballads.

Northampton Mayor Anthony Pristash; U.S. Congresswoman Susan Wild, D-7th; state Rep. Zach Mako, R-183rd; state Sen. Nick Miller, D-14th; and Northampton County Executive Lamont McClure were on hand to recognize the hard work and success of the Assante family over the past two decades.

Pristash thanked Assante family members Mario, Luisa, Giulio, Rosanna, Nicola and Nunzia and proclaimed Aug. 16, 2023, as Assante Ristorante Italiano Day. He added the borough of Northampton wishes the Assante family unlimited, continued success.

The Assante family said they labor hard to satisfy the tastes by using only the finest-quality ingredients.

There is a wide variety of Italian lunch, dinner and catering menus.

All told, the Assante Ristorante Italiano is a must-visit for any diner seeking great food in a soothing, romantic atmosphere.

Assante is open Tuesdays through Sundays.
