AM Radio to play free concert in Franko Park Sept. 9
I hope that everyone had a wonderful first day of school for the start of the 2023-2024 school year!
This year will be filled with many new experiences and as I am officially a mom of a senior this year, I will be holding on to each one I can for as long as possible.
With the school year starting, please remember that schools will be closed Sept. 1 and 4 for the Labor Day holiday. School will resume Sept. 5. As hectic as the first few weeks of school are, don’t forget picture day is one of the first things to happen. Students will have their photos taken Sept. 7. Stay tuned for details.
Sept. 7 is also the Salisbury Elementary School Open House. This is the night to meet your student’s teacher and hear all about the plans for the year. Salisbury Middle School and Salisbury High School will hold open house dates later in the month, Sept. 28 and 21 respectively.
Salisbury Township School District has changed lunch accounts for this year. If your student will be purchasing lunch at school, please create a payschools.com account. Any previous lunch balances will carry over to the new system.
The 2023 Frank Yelinko Memorial Fund Golf Tournament is still looking for golfers. The event will be held Sept. 9 at the Club at Twin Lakes. It will begin 8 a.m. with a shotgun start so plan to arrive by 7 a.m. Cost is $120 per golfer and includes a round of golf, a cart, a gift, lunch, prizes and door prizes. This will be formatted in a four person scramble and is limited to the first 32 paid foursomes. Don’t delay! Contact Don Kelly at 484-714-8045 or djk525@gmail.com with questions.
Plan ahead now to attend a free concert 4 p.m. Sept. 9 at Franko Park. AM Radio Tribute Band will perform music of the 1960s and 1970s. Bring your blankets, chairs and some snacks and enjoy a night of music in the park.
The Devonshire drop-off site will be open Aug. 31 and Sept. 1 and the Franko site will be open Sept. 7 and 9. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays. Both drop-off sites will be closed Sept. 4 for the Labor Day holiday.
