Anthony J. Pawlowski

Anthony J. “Tony” Pawlowski, 71, of Whitehall, died on Aug. 19, 2023, in St. Luke’s Hospital, Allentown campus.

He and his wife, Dianne C. (Fries) Pawlowski, were married 49 years.

Born Dec. 30, 1951, in West Hazleton, Luzerne County, he was the son of the late Walter S. and Margaret M. (Bittner) Pawlowski.

Graduating from Wilkes University with a Master’s degree, he was a Spanish teacher at Catasauqua High School for 10 years before retiring in 2014.

Before that, he was a financial advisor at Wells Fargo, a Prudential Insurance agent, and manager of a former Woolworth’s store in Philadelphia.

He was a member of Bethany Wesleyan Church, Cherryville.

He loved God, his wife, sons, grandchildren and his garden.

He was a movie enthusiast, was generous to anyone he came across, and he loved to make people laugh.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons Anthony W. and Nicholas G. Pawlowski both of Whitehall, Benjamin F. Pawlowski (Madelyn) of Tucson, Ariz., and Zachary C. Pawlowski (Jacqueline) of Frederica, Del.; brothers Walter N. Pawlowski (Stella) of West Hazleton, Stanley A. Pawlowski (Mary) of Rockville, Md., John J. Pawlowski (Nancy) of Arlington, N.J.; 10 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother, Joseph N. Pawlowski.
