Nelly, a hip-hop artist born Cornell Iral Haynes, Nov. 2, 1974, in Austin, Tex., grew up in St. Louis, Mo. Nelly’s first album, “Country Grammar” (2000), with Top 10 hits, the title track and “Ride wit Me,” went to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, selling more than 8.4 million copies. “Nellyville” (2002) had the No. 1 hits, “Hot in Herre” and “Dilemma,” and the Top 5 single “Air Force Ones.” The same-day dual release (2004) saw “Sweat”’ debut at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart and “Suit” debut at No. 1 on the same chart in the same week. There was the compilation, “Sweatsuit” (2006). The album, “Brass Knuckles” (2008), had the singles “Party People,” “Stepped on My J’z” and “Body on Me.” The album, “5.0” (2010), had the singles, “Just a Dream,” “Move That Body” and “Gone.” Other albums include “M.O.” (2013) and “Heartland” (2021). Nelly was on the TV shows, “Real Husbands of Hollywood” (2013-2016), “Nellyville” (2014-2015), “The Platinum Life” (2017 - ) and “Dancing with the Stars” (2020).
