Hot rods, custom cars roll into Macungie

The 44th Wheels of Time Street Rod Association “Rod & Custom Jamboree” is 7 p.m. - 10 p.m. Aug. 25, 26 and 27, Macungie Memorial Park, Macungie.

The Jamboree includes more than 1,500 street rods and custom cars, 1993 or older.

Special attractions include:

• Henry and Sue Wilts’ Dorney Park Speedway Memories

• Old Time Plow Boys antique Farm equipment and Tractor show

• TV show cars “The Nightrider” and “Red Baron”

• America on Wheels display

• Tribute to Veterans with information booth

• Rusty Frank and his Vargo Dragway Willys pickup

• S and W Race cars

Music entertainment is: Flirtin’ With The Mob, 7 p.m. Aug. 25; Allentown Hobo Marching Band, afternoon, Aug. 26, and Flamin’ Dick and the Hot Rods, 7 p.m. Aug. 26.

There’s also: a car corral, 200 Flea Market vendors, food court, games, raffle, swimming pool, playground, and Miller-Keystone Blood Center blood mobile, Aug. 26.

The Friday Night Cruise, 6:30 p.m. Aug. 25, is: Allen Organ parking lot, south on Route 100, left onto Buckeye Road., left onto Route 29 (Chestnut Street), north onto Cedar Crest Boulevard, left onto Lower Macungie Road, left onto Willow Lane, back onto Route 100 and left back to Memorial Park.

The route does not include Emmaus borough because, according to cruise organizers, not enough borough staff and volunteers were available to oversee intersections.

Proceeds benefit more than two dozen charitable organizations and scholarship programs.

Attendees may bring a non-perishable food item for area food banks. Admission is free to those under age 16.
