SCHOOL YEAR HIGHLIGHTS Parkland hosts Festival of the Arts

Parkland High School was the venue for the annual Parkland School District Festival of the Arts May 18-20.

The event is presented to recognize the many talents of students in the district.

High school junior Riley McMenamy displays her artwork, “Destructions of Mankind” at the Festival of the Arts, May 18 at the high school.
Imaan Saeed's artwork depicts the contrast between life in Pakistan and the United States.
“Negative Emotions” was the focus of Jay Ortiz's artwork. Fellow students Eshal Qureshi and Samantha Hanna were enjoying the artwork on display at the Festival of the Arts.
Soon-to-be graduate Emma Ludwig used multiple mediums in her artwork titled “Dark Side of Technology” at the Festival of the Arts.
High school Art Department Chairwoman Monica Danner is pleased with the artwork on display at the school district's Festival of the Arts.

Then a high school junior, Ryan Englebert's photo is titled “Horse.” Sophomore Alison Silman's photo was titled “Flip.” Their photos were on display at the Festival of the Arts.
Christopher Barrett, art teacher/photography, is in the display area of the art department at the Festival of the Arts in May at the high school.
Soon-to-be graduate Courtney Gibbons holds the silver medal she won in the National Arts Scholastic Competition with her photo “Milo” at the Festival of the Arts.
