William “Bill” Wanesky, 85, of Wescosville, died Aug. 10, peacefully at home with his family by his side. He met his wife Janet “Joan,” Wanesky in their hometown of Minersville while in high school. They celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary earlier this year.
He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was blessed with two daughters and five grandchildren who loved him dearly.
In his early years, he liked to build model planes and even built cars.
After graduating from Penn State University, he worked as a mechanical engineer at Western Electric for almost 30 years and had numerous inventions patented. There wasn’t a problem he couldn’t solve or item he couldn’t fix.
He loved fishing/ boating, gardening and the beach.
He was a “foodie” before there was a name for it - he loved all kinds of cuisine.
He enjoyed helping his children, friends and neighbors with repairs and maintenance. He was always available with a helping hand and his quick wit and sense of humor endeared him to everyone he met. He was often greeted with hugs at his favorite restaurants. His family was most important to him and he showed that every opportunity he could.
He is survived by his wife; daughters, Janet and her husband, Dean D’Amico, Sandi and her husband, Ray Lopez; grandchildren, Alexander, Isabella, Jackson, Ava and Ryland.
Arrangements entrusted to the Stephens Funeral Home, Inc., Allentown.
