St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 3024 S. Ruch St., will be holding its annual church picnic 1-9 p.m. Sept. 3 on the church grounds.

There will be a variety of delicious foods for purchase, including homemade pierogies and baked goods.

Musical entertainment will be provided by The Pennsylvania Villagers 1-4 p.m. and Joyous 5-9 p.m.

Bring your lawn chairs, and enjoy a fun and relaxing day.

The Great Allentown Fair is scheduled for Aug. 30-Sept. 4 at the Allentown Fairgrounds, 302 N. 17th St.

Stop by and enjoy the exciting rides, games, entertainment and exhibits. Plenty of fabulous fair food will also be available.

School will be starting for most children in our community within the next week. Drivers, be extra careful in the mornings as the students are walking to the bus stops.
