Robert Alcott Darnall, 89, died Aug. 14, 2023, at Mountain City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Hazleton. Born in Washington, D.C., he was the son of the late Carl and Jane (Alcott) Darnall.

He was an electrical engineer for Bell Labs and later AT&T, in the Allentown location from 1974 to 1989.

He is survived by a son, Robert A. and his wife, Barbara; siblings, Bruce, Elizabeth Cummings, Mary Trahman, Alex; three grandchildren.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Aug. 23 at the Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 225 Elm St., Emmaus. A viewing will be held 10 to 11 a.m. Aug. 23 in the funeral home.
