Jeffrey R. Kuhns, 76, of Slatington, formerly of Emmaus, died Aug. 19, 2023, at Complete Care at Lehigh Center, Lower Macungie Township, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Lucille W. (Rothrock) Kuhns, to whom he had been married for 51 years. Born in Allentown, he was the son of Gladys F. (Metzger) Kuhns, of Walnutport and the late Robert Ralph Kuhns.
He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army in the Vietnam War.
He was employed at Print Force in Allentown and the former Rodale Press, Emmaus for a combined 40 years, retiring in 2009.
He was a member of Union United Church of Christ, Neffs.
He proudly served with the Emmaus Fire Police for 43 years.
He enjoyed fishing, photography, spending time with dogs, swimming, fixing things, target shooting, long walks and time with family, especially lake and Long Beach Island vacations.
He is survived by his wife; mother; children, Robert J. (Heather), of Fogelsville, Peter G. (Lisha), of Hamburg, Jodee C. Humanick (Brandon), of Slatington, Shawn M., of Bethlehem; sisters, Barbara J. Rechtor (Dennis), of Walnutport, Donna F. Shollenberger (Jack), of Palmerton; grandchildren, Dakotah, Cayden, Addisyn, Collin, Keira, Weston, Chevelle and Ellyanna, (expected in October).

Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Aug. 26, at Union Church Cemetery, Neffs with the Rev. Kris P. Snyder officiating. No calling hours. The Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., Schnecksville is in charge of arrangements.
