Helen Sweryda, 89, formerly of Northampton, died Aug. 10, 2023, at the Summit at Blue Mountain Nursing and Rehab Center, Lehighton. She was the wife of the late Nikolai Sweryda.

Born in Northampton, she was a daughter of the late Petro and Ksenia (Kolody) Krywczuk.

She worked at the former D&D Shirt Factory and held various other jobs working with computer chip components, including at the former ATT.

She was a member of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church and of the church’s ladies society.

She was a member of Seniors in Action and the former Friendly Fifties.

She is survived by two daughters, Dorothy Miller and husband Larry and Christine Workoff and husband Frank Eisenhauer; five grandchildren; one stepgrandchild; a sister, Irene O’Donnell; nieces; and nephews.

She was predeceased by four sisters, Anna, Olga, Marion and Mary; and two brothers, John and Wassyl.
