Bath: Keep the kids cool Aug. 24

Bath Borough will hold a Cool Off the Kids Night 5-7 p.m. Aug. 24 at Firefighters Park, 300 N. Chestnut St. This is an at-your-own-risk event open to children inside and outside of the borough of Bath. Parents/guardians who have children attending must be present during the entire stay.

Assisting with this event are Bath Volunteer Fire Department, Bath Water Authority and the public works department.

The rain date is set for Aug. 25.

Bath Farmers Market organizers invite all types of artists to join an Art at the Park event Aug. 26. Make connections, showcase your works and/or sell your works of art.

Organizers will have art displayed along the fence of the park.

The market is open 9 a.m.-noon at Monocacy Park.

The winner of the recent Lego contest, held at the farmers market, was Davey Berger-Carmen, who built a soldier bunker.

Petersville Rod and Gun Club, 550 Club Road, will be having a basket social 4-9 p.m. Sept. 8 and 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Sept. 9.

Petersville Rod and Gun Club will hold a ride for K-9 Kop Project Sept. 9. Registration is 10 a.m.-noon, and kickstands go up noon.

The price includes food, beverages and live entertainment.

Boy Scout Troop 33 in Bath, sponsored by Lions Club of Bath, is a youth-led troop that follows the patrol method. The troop is part of the Minsi Trails Council and has more than 15 Scouts and four trained Scoutmasters and assistants.

Outdoor activities, which include camping, backpacking, canoeing and biking, are planned throughout the year. The Scouts also participate in various community service projects.

The troop meets from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays at Klecknersville Rangers Volunteer Fire Company, 2718 Mountain View Drive.

Bath Mayor Fiorella Reginelli-Mirabito would like to extend a sincere thank you to the members of the Republican Association of Bath for their continued generosity to the borough in donating funds for the purchase of two park benches, which have been memorialized for the playground at Paw Park.
