Barbara N. Bateman, 71, of Northampton, died Aug. 10, 2023, while on in-home hospice. She was the wife of Ned Bateman.

Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late William and Irene Anthony.

She graduated from William Allen High School and Lehigh County Community College.

She spent 20 years as an occupational therapy assistant at Allentown State Hospital. She enjoyed several years as a librarian at Northampton Area Public Library.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Michael; a daughter, Jessica Gonzalez with Carlos; two grandchildren, Oliver and Seba Gonzalez; and a sister, Doreen Kleinworth with Jack.

There will be a calling time 9 a.m., followed by a celebration of life 10 a.m., Aug. 28 at the funeral home, 444 Pershing Blvd., Whitehall.
