Frederic W. Romig Jr., 97 of Upper Macungie Township and formerly of Bethlehem, died August 9, 2023, at Heather Glen Senior Living. Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late Frederic W. and Helen M. (Silfies) Romig Sr. He was the husband of the late Betty J. (Sobers) Romig.
He was in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He retired as a commander from the U.S. Naval Reserves in 1986.
He worked in the market research department of the Bethlehem Steel Corporation.
He was a member of Calvary Moravian Church, Allentown.
He was a member of the Toastmasters and the Lions Club. He sang in a barbershop quartet.
He is survived by a son, Richard F. Romig of Bethlehem; two daughters, Sandra G. Lees of Bethlehem and Robin L. Allman of Sunset Beach, North Carolina; a stepdaughter, Kathy L. and spouse Jamie Kline of Emmaus; a stepson, Jeffrey R. Robbins and wife Lorraine of Ann Arbor, Michigan; five grandchildren, Sheila, Brittany, Jeffrey, Wesley and Timothy; and three great-grandchildren, Logan, Keira and Leah.
He was predeceased by two sisters, Constance R. Kessler and Nancy J. Romig.
