The Polk Street Parking Garage, off 3rd street at the Northampton Community College (NCC) Fowler Family Southside Center, Bethlehem, is open.

The nearly $22-million, seven-level parking garage provides 200 permitted spots of more than 700 for NCC students, faculty and staff at the Southside Center.

The garage, run and owned by the Bethlehem Parking Authority, is at the intersection of Polk and East Third streets. There is a pedestrian bridge to NCC from the garage.

“This center is a hub for life learning and a space for the whole community to enjoy. The addition of the parking facility will make accessing our programs and facilities even easier,” said Northampton Community College President Dr. David A. Ruth.

“When you go through the Southside these days you realize how much our community is in demand. People want to live here, work here, and go to school here at NCC. This makes it easier to do those things,” said Bethlehem Mayor J. William Reynolds.
