Samuel Robert Klein, 53, son of Paula and Billy Klein of New Tripoli, died in his sleep on July 16, 2023, in Niskayuna, N.Y., while on a bicycle camping trip with his dad.

Born May 15, 1970, in Norristown, he was a 1988 graduate of Northwestern Lehigh High School, the University of Colorado and received his Master of Business Administration degree from Penn State.

He worked in renewable energy, green construction and finance for more than 20 years.

He was most recently a principal and COO of Gemm Digital, Bethlehem.

Elected to the Einstein Healthcare Network Board of overseers in 2014, he served on its development committee.

He also served on Einstein’s Small Miracles Golf and the 150th celebration committees and was a member of the Einstein Legacy Circle.

He followed his late great-grandfather, Juilus Klein, his late grandfather, Robert Klein, the family matriarch, Judy Franken, and his cousin, Selma Garber, in service to Einstein boards and committees.

He was a member of Congregation Keneseth Israel, Allentown, Am Haskala, Bethlehem, and Mikveh Israel, Philadelphia.

An avid cyclist, runner, skier, camper, hiker and accomplished karaoke singer, he was a unique and playful man.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister Alice Eve Klein, of Shelbyville, Tenn.; and scads of aunts, uncles and cousins from California to Florida to Jerusalem.
