Jean E. Jarrett, 94, of Allentown formerly of Slatington, died Aug. 2, 2023, in Heather Glen Senior Living, Allentown.

The loving wife of the late Homer R. Jarrett, the couple shared 62 years of marriage.

Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Esther (Lucas) Shelhamer.

A 1946 graduate of Allentown High School, she worked at various retail stores, including the original Hess’s Department Store, Allentown, and Lutheran Brotherhood Insurance Company.

She enjoyed gardening, baking, reading and listening to Big Band music.

Her survivors include a daughter, Andrea L. Thomson and husband, Ross; and granddaughter Logan Thomson and husband, Nathan Bell.

She was predeceased by brothers Charles and Carl Shelhamer, and sister, Lillian Schaeffer.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
