Girl Scout Troops from the Parkland Service Unit 722, gathered recently at Union Lutheran Church, Schnecksville, to participate in World Thinking Day.

This annual event, a celebration of the joys of Scouting involving activities around a shared theme, is practiced by Girl Scouts throughout the world.

This year’s theme was “Our World, Our Peaceful Future, the Environment, Peace and Security.”

Scouts were first introduced to martial arts for young women by instructors from the Lehigh Valley Martial Arts, they then rotated between four different activities, including making a seed bomb for pollinators with a member of the Wildlands Conservancy; learning about self-care and meditation; playing mini golf with a course they created based around World Thinking Day themes and enjoying a gratitude room where they made cards for people who work behind the scenes at their schools and communities.
