Theodore Charles Bodnar

Theo- dore Charles Bodnar, 86, of Northampton, died Aug. 9, 2023, at home. He was the husband of Janette M. (Shinsky) for 62 years.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Charles Sr. and Nesttie (Kyra) Bodnar.

He was in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict.

He worked on diesel engines at the former Chemical Leaman Tank Lines Inc. and the former Matlack Trucking Inc. He then worked in the delivery and maintenance departments for the U.S. Postal Service.

He was a lifetime member of Tri-Boro Sportsmen Club, which he and his brothers established. He was a lifetime member of Northampton American Legion.

He was a member of and volunteer at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Donna M. Solomon and husband John and Denise A. Iannotta and husband James; four grandsons, Johnny, Brandon, Matthew and Nicholas; a great-grandson, John Theodore II; a brother, James Bodnar and wife Mary Ann; a sister, Veronica Kurtz; nieces; and nephews.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Roger and Charles Jr.

There will be a gathering time 9:30 a.m., followed by the Divine Liturgy 10:30 a.m., Aug. 17 at the church, 1343 Newport Ave., Northampton, 18067.

Contributions may be made to the church or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
