Parishioners and area residents gathered outdoors for the St. Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church’s parish festival, held June 9-10. The event at 435 Pershing Blvd., Fullerton, offered food, attractions for children, adult beverages and live music.
The festival featured the famous halupki dinner, cabbage and noodles, homemade pierogies, potato pancakes, sausage and much more. Attendees also saved room for dessert, as a bake sale was going on inside the dining hall while funnel cakes, snow cones and ice cream were being served outdoors.
Aside from the variety of food sales, adult beverages, including beer, wine coolers and slushies, were available. The parish set up a small beer garden area for groups to gather and mingle.
The festival was not short on attractions for the younger attendees. Children had the opportunity to play games like a candy wheel and basketball net. A major attraction was the inflatable bounce house.
After festival attendees filled up on savory food and sweet treats, they pulled out their lawn chairs to enjoy live music from two featured artists. Common Bond performed June 9, while Flirtin’ with the Mob played June 10.
The music brought out cheers, dance moves and happy smiles while the food kept everyone filled and satisfied.
The festival would not have been possible without help from all of the volunteers and staff of St. Elizabeth, including a variety of young volunteers who took time out of their summer break to help the parish put on a great event for the community.
