Northampton: Siegfried Railroad Station Museum will be open Aug. 20

The Siegfried Railroad Station Museum will be open to visitors 1-4 p.m. Aug. 20. The station is located on West 21st Street (Route 329) in Northampton.

The station is a museum housing artifacts of Northampton and the surrounding area. This year, scrapbooks with pictures of men and women who served in World War II are available for perusal. The pictures were taken from local newspapers. There is also a Haff Hospital display.

Friends of the Northampton Area Public Library will next meet 7-8 p.m. Aug. 22.

The Friends group is made up of volunteers who use their skills and interests to help educate the public about what’s new at the library, develop library services and facilities and raise funds needed to keep the library current. They are vital to the health of any community library.

Come in and make some new friends!

Pink Pumpkins Coins 4 Chemo will hold a So Long Summerfest flea market and community yard sale, scheduled for 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Aug. 26 at Tri-Boro Sportsmen Club, 2110 Canal St. The event includes a craft and vendor fair, 50/50 raffle and more.

The club’s kitchen will be open.

All proceeds go to the Lehigh Valley Health Network Prager Patient Assistance Fund, which helps cancer patients currently in treatment with financial assistance for nonclinical everyday expenses.

Northampton Area Historical Society is having its annual mum sale this month. Available colors are white, yellow, red, purple and orange.

The deadline to order is Aug. 29, with delivery at the Siegfried Railroad Station 8-11 a.m. Sept. 9.

Holy Trinity Nursery School, 1235 Main St., is currently registering for the 2023-24 school year.

The 2-year-old playgroup class will meet 9:30-11 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays. Class size is limited to 12 children, who do not need to be toilet trained for this class.

The 3-year-old class meets 9-11:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Class size is limited to 16 children, who need to be toilet trained.

The 4-year-old class meets 12:15-2:45 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Class size is limited to 16 children, who need to be toilet trained for this class.

Children must turn the appropriate age for the class by Sept. 1.
