Lower Macungie Historical Society teases film short during Lehigh Valley Passport to History July 22-23

The Lower Macungie Historical Society took the opportunity to promote its upcoming short film about The Fries Rebellion of 1798-1799 during Lehigh Valley Passport to History festivities recently. The film will tell the story of a violent insurrection against the first federal tax on property in the very early years of the United States. Pennsylvania German farmers in the greater Lehigh Valley area were among those who opposed the tax, according to organizers.
