Hokendauqua: Historical buildings will be open to the public Aug. 20

Whitehall Historical Preservation Society has announced the following dates for open houses at Helfrich Springs Grist Mill and Peter Grim Homestead, 501 and 506 Mickley Road, respectively: 1-3 p.m. Aug. 20, Sept. 17, Oct. 15, Nov. 19 and Dec. 17.

Reminder: Military appreciation day - free entry with a military ID - will be noon-5 p.m. Aug. 19 at Parkview Pool, 3051 S. Fifth St. This is the last day to swim for the 2023 season.

There is a general admission cost for ages 6-61. Admission for children under age 6 and residents 62 and older is free. A photo ID is required.

Whitehall Bible Fellowship Church is inviting students in grades 7-12 to a youth group event Aug. 27 - hiking after church. If you didn’t attend youth group this year, you may still join.

The rain date will be Sept. 10.

There is a cost to have a 12-foot-by-20-foot space. The cost is cheaper in advance.

Whitehall Township Recreation Bureau is organizing aqua aerobics classes for the fall, to be held 6-7 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays from Sept. 19 to Nov. 9, at the natatorium at Whitehall High School, 3800 Mechanicsville Road. The cost is cheaper for township residents.
