Dorothy Ann Rabenold, 93, died Aug. 9, 2023. She was the wife of the late Sherwood G. Rabenold for 62 years.

Born in Crumpler, W.V., one of 15 children, she was a daughter of the late Ashby Lee and Annie (Young) Crouch.

She graduated from Concord College with a bachelor’s degree in education. She earned a master’s degree from Johns Hopkins University.

She was a teacher in West Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania.

She is survived by two children, Donna J. Shaffer and her husband Dennis of Greencastle and David W. and his wife Carol of Coplay; three grandchildren, Kristen N. Beaver and her husband Aaron, Brooke D. Connally and her husband Daniel and Lauren E. Mowen and her husband Ryan; and nine great-grandchildren.

Services will be private.
