Coplay Saengerbund, 205 S. Fifth St., announces its lineup for the Friday night concerts. The doors and kitchen open 5 p.m. Bands perform 6-10 p.m.

The August lineup is Trick Stacy Aug. 18 and the Honey Buzzards Aug. 25.

Coplay Community Days is scheduled for Aug. 25-27. It will feature quality entertainment, great food and fun, including clowns, a free swim and more.

Lifeguards are needed. There will be a premium pay rate for lifeguards who work during the event.

The planning committee meets 7 p.m. the fourth Monday of every month in council chambers at the municipal building, 98 S. Fourth St. These meetings are open to the public.

St. John’s Lutheran Church, 18 S. Third St., is planning its offerings for the food stand at Coplay Community Days, including pork barbecue, cabbage and noodles, clam chowder, hot dogs and drinks.

Coplay’s Parkway Pool, Second and Keefer streets, is continuing a great summer season with a free swim weekend Aug. 26 and 27, Aqua Zumba by Tara Miller, twilight pool evenings and other activities.

The Coplay Wednesday night summer series continues 6-9 p.m. at the borough’s Community Plaza, North Second and Chestnut streets.

Upcoming concerts will include the Castaways Aug. 30, Third Hand Trio Sept. 6 and the Jenni Hackett Duo Sept. 13.

American Club of Coplay will hold its adult picnic Sept. 9 at the pavilion, 300 Cherry St. Doors open noon. Food will be available 1-6 p.m., and other refreshments will be available 1-9 p.m.

There will be a deejay 2-5 p.m., with the Castaways performing from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

You must be at least 18 years old to attend.

The Saengerbund heritage committee’s Oktoberfest is scheduled for 2-7 p.m. Sept. 10. The event is open to the public for a small cost.

The opening parade will be 2:30 p.m. Joe Kroboth will be performing 3-7 p.m. Entertainment will include the Auerhahn Schuhplattler Dancers and a Masskrugstemmen contest.

There will be imported German beer and authentic German food.
