Coplay Public Library: Reading program awards, gift basket drawing set for Aug. 19

The summer reading program awards and drawing for the gift baskets will be held 11 a.m. Aug. 19.

Register for the event at the library, on our website or by calling the library. You do not need to be present to win.

Reminder: Free movies continue at Coplay Public Library. Movies will begin 1 p.m.

The movie schedule is as follows: “Jungle Book 2” Aug. 17, “Remember the Titans” Aug. 24 and “Madagascar: Escape to Africa” Aug. 31.

Bring your own snacks.

Have dinner at Samuel Owens Restaurant and Bar, 128 Chestnut St., 4-9 p.m. Aug. 20 for a library fundraiser.

The Coplay restaurant will donate 10% of your check to the library for dine-in meals only.

The library will be closed Sept. 2 and 4 in observance of Labor Day.

It will reopen 10 a.m. Sept. 5.

The library will be holding another Vince’s Cheesesteak fundraiser 3-7 p.m. Sept. 7 at Coplay Parkway. Baked goods will also be available.

All proceeds benefit the library.

The crochet class meets 1 p.m. Wednesdays. If you have never crocheted, want to pick up some tips or do other needle work, join us for a fun and instructive hour.

Shopping passes for Boscov’s Friends Helping Friends fundraising event are here.

You will enjoy a discount on your in-store purchases Oct. 18 and get a chance to win a Boscov’s gift card.

The entirety of the pass cost goes to the library.

You do not have to wait until the fall or spring book sales to donate gently read books to the library. Drop them off at the circulation desk during open hours. Call the library or see our website for donation guidelines.

The next book sale is set for 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Oct. 6 and 7. Thousands of books, DVDs, CDs and puzzles are looking for a good home.

Need to use a computer to search for information or print something? We have six public access computers for you to use! You just need to show your library card at the front desk when you come into the library.

If you do not have a library card, it only takes a few minutes to get one. All you need is a form of identification, like a driver’s license. Library cards are free and may be used at 12 libraries in Lehigh and Carbon counties.

The library’s summer hours are 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Mondays-Wednesdays, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Thursdays, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Fridays and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturdays.

The library’s fall and winter hours will start Aug. 28. They are 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
