LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

Bath market strong in its 16th season

The Bath Farmers Market is in its 16th season with a nice crop of vendors. On a beautiful July 22 at Bath Borough’s Monocacy Park on West Main Street, a visitor could purchase a variety of farm and nonfarm items.

Items offered at the market include fresh fruits and vegetables from AK Farms, of Northampton, and Twin Maple Farms, of Bath; fresh coffee from True Patriot Coffee; wood products; munchies and snacks for the family dog; jewelry; succulent plants; and more.

Carol Bear-Heckman, market director, said the principal sponsor for this year’s market is Keystone Cement Company. Keystone has had a decadeslong history with Bath and is a proud, longtime sponsor of borough activities.

Mitchell Hendricks serenaded market attendees and crooned to everyone’s delight as he delicately strummed on his guitar. Email mihend2731@gmail.com to book him for an event.

AK Farms offered a beautiful selection of blueberries, black raspberries, corn, bell peppers, tomatoes and other produce. Visit AK Farms on Facebook. Twin Maples can be reached at twinmaplesfarmspa.com.

True Patriot Coffee, run by Chuck Werkheiser, can be reached at 484-221-5178 or Google True Patriot Coffee for information.

Joanna Haring’s other worldly homemade items can be found at her Facebook page - Mystic World Creations.

Karla Buckwalter, farmers market board member and marketing manager, and her daughter Serena ran the produce stand.

Bear-Heckman, a former Bath Borough Council member, was with her husband, Darrin, and Tracy Berger- Carmen, board member. They were delighted by the nice weather and the vendor and attendee turnout.

Bear-Heckman was grateful Keystone Cement Company stepped up again as major sponsorship status.

“Keystone is very important for our community, and sponsoring our market is helpful to keep it going,” Bear-Heckman said.
