Press photo by Nate Jastrzemski The storm that blew through town Aug. 7 left a mess, such as this broken tree at Easton Avenue and Chestnut Street. Director of Public Works Michael Alkhal said, “There was not particularly a lot of flooding issues with this past storm in Bethlehem, but we did have 15 to 20 locations of downed trees/branches. We typically clean up those locations within hours unless utilities are involved, specifically power/PPL, as was the case at Easton Avenue and Chestnut, where we had to wait for them to secure their facilities before we can do our cleanup and reopen the road.”
