Bethlehem Police took a man into custodylast week who they said planned to set off homemade bombs at Musikfest.

Acting on a tip, police linked Robert “Bob” Bowen to fireworks detonated in the areas of West Goepp Street, Wyandotte Street and the Hill-to-Hill bridge.

They executed a search warrant on Bowen’s residence and were assisted by Lehigh County Municipal Emergency Response Team, FBI and Bethlehem Fire Department Bomb Squad Team.

Police said Bowen was detained as a result of the search.

Police stressed there is no threat to the public at this time.
