To the Editor:

I suggest your readers Google Dana Milbank’s Aug. 11 article in The Washington Post titled, “The country has come apart. Rural America has a cure.” The cure is a community newspaper. There aren’t many anymore. But we have one. The Bethlehem Press is a community newspaper. And a good one. We read of the awards the BP garnered in a recent issue. We need to hold on to the BP and even help it grow. There’s an appetite for more local news. I felt that during the three years I edited the Bethlehem Gadfly blog (and my offer to stake someone to continue it is still open). I urge current subscribers to promote the reasonably priced BP to family, friends and neighbors as a locus for community information.
