ALDI’S NEW LOCATION: ALDI will be opening its new location in Bethlehem at 3811 Nazareth Pike Thursday, Aug. 24, at 8:45 a.m. The store will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Saturday. The store at 3050 Easton Ave. will close its doors Wednesday, Aug. 23. The first 100 customers will receive a gift bag filled with a sampling of ALDI Fan Favorites products and a gift card as part of the ALDI Golden Ticket gift card giveaway program. Shoppers can also enter a sweepstakes for a chance to win a $500 ALDI gift card during the Grand Opening weekend from Aug. 24 through 27.

‘TIME OUT’ RECEPTION: Artist Jonathan Bond will be exhibiting his paintings and drawings, “Time Out - Scenes from Kempton,” at the Bethlehem City Hall Rotunda Gallery from Aug. 17 to Sept. 26. There will be an opening reception Sunday, Aug. 20, from 2 to 4 p.m. The Rotunda Gallery is located at 10 E. Church St. Gallery hours are Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This exhibition features more than 25 original works, including egg tempura, oil, watercolor and ink drawings. Finished works, along with studies and derivative compositions, capture the harsh rustic beauty of the northern Berks County landscape that surrounds Jon’s art studio. The art is a nod to the strong Pennsylvania German heritage of the area and conveys a silent sense of place where inanimate objects become neighbors, farmers, family and friends.

The exhibition is sponsored by the Bethlehem Fine Arts Commission (www.bfac-lv.org).

CUP OF HOPE: TopStar Express, a locally owned and operated convenience store chain in Eastern Pennsylvania, is partnering with Feeding Pennsylvania on a “Cup of Hope” campaign. Through this endeavor, a portion of all coffee cup sales is donated to helping five local food banks in Pennsylvania. “The Cup of Hope campaign run by Top Star Express will enable us to stretch the funds raised to purchase healthy, nutritious food for our local neighbors in need,” says Allison Czapp, associate executive director at the Second Harvest Food Bank of the Lehigh Valley. “We are most grateful for Top Star Express and their incredible generosity.”

TopStar Express will be hosting a donation collection on behalf of the Second Harvest Food Bank of the Lehigh Valley that will benefit local school pantries. Requested items: shelf-stable milk pints, individual cereal bowls, macaroni and cheese bowls, fruit cups, granola bars and applesauce cups. Donations of these items and a generous donation from TopStar Express to Feeding Pennsylvania will take place during TopStar Express’s Community Appreciation Event Aug. 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 216 Nazareth Pike.
