The Bethlehem Stingrays summer swim team hosted Silvers Championships on July 19 for teams in the Lehigh Valley Suburban Swim League.

The Silvers Meet provided an opportunity for swimmers who didn’t qualify for Gold Championships to compete one last time in the summer swim season.

The Stingrays, coached by Evan Kocon, had nine first place finishers, six second place finishers, and nine third place finishers.

Winning individual events for Bethlehem were: Liliana Fink in the 11-12 100 IM (1:29.26), Ashlyn Cepin in the 6 & Under 25 free (23.33) and the 25 butterfly (39.00), Collin Guerin in the 9-10 25 breaststroke (23.31), Joseph Franzyshen in the 7-8 25 fly (29.44), Logan Lech in the 9-10 25 fly (18.80) and the 25 backstroke (21.03), Jonah Korpics in the 11-12 50 back (44.58), and Mattie Baluta in the 13 & Over 50 back (35.91).

Taking second place were Korpics in the 100 IM (1:34.13), Jaxon Geiger in the 13 & Over 100 IM (1:14.82), Shea Gilvary in the 9-10 25 freestyle (25.34), Lech in the 25 free (16.05), Fink in the 50 breast (47.51), and Maximus Amil in the 9-10 25 back (21.08).

Third place finishers were Lucas Maldonado in the 11-12 100 IM (1:48.82), Joshua Baluta in the 13 & Over 100 IM (1:17.64), Meva Kelekci in the 9-10 25 free (25.50), Guerin in the 25 free (16.56), Korpics in the 50 free (35.93), Avery McKeon in the 13 & Over 50 breast (41.98), Lily Molchany in the 6 & Under 25 fly (52.12), Mia Torres in the 7-8 25 back (25.35), and Geiger in the 13 & Over 50 back (34.83).

Coming in fourth place were Torres in the 25 free (21.35), Bradley Bobsein in the 9-10 25 free (16.75), McKeon in the 50 free (30.86), Geiger in the 50 free (29.31), Jordan Torres in the 7-8 25 breast (38.84), Chase Hutchison in the 9-10 25 breast (26.06), Avery Cassel in the 11-12 50 breast (1:02.68), Bobsein in the 25 fly (23.31), Molchany in the 25 back (37.15, Elizabeth Green in the 11-12 50 back (43.57), and Lucas Maldonado in the 11-12 50 back (50.06).

Fifth place finishers were Paxton Dirany in the 9-10 25 free (17.35), Lucas Maldonado in the 50 free (39.51), Mattie Baluta in the 50 free (31.36) and the 50 breast (43.27), Riley Predmore in the 9-10 25 fly (22.35), Samuel Williams in the 13 & Over 50 fly (38.14), Sadie O’Neil in the 6 & Under 25 back (43.26), Jackson Neeb in the 9-10 25 back (21.62), Sebastian Derr in the 11-12 50 back (50.55), and Joseph Baluta in the 50 back (37.21).

In addition to the Bethlehem Stingrays, teams in the Lehigh Valley Suburban Swim League are the Whitehall Waves, Northampton Kids, Palmerton Porpoises, Quakertown Dolphins, Soleco Stingrays, Lower Macungie Lazers, and Macungie Bears.
