Whitehall Township Public Library: Finale events to be held Aug. 10, 12
Whitehall Township Public Library’s adult summer reading program finale is planned for 1 p.m. Aug. 10. Celebrate with snacks and prizes.
The kids program finale is set for noon-2 p.m. Aug. 12. Enjoy face painting, balloon art, a visit from Mini Moos, games and snacks. Kids can pick up grand prizes at this event.

Reminder: The library is a drop-off location for Plant a Row Lehigh Valley. This grassroots organization helps supply fresh fruits and vegetables to the hungry in the Lehigh Valley.
Drop off donations in the marked cooler inside the library 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Mondays. All donations are given to Whitehall Food Pantry.

Creation Station: Exploring DNA will be held 6 p.m. Aug. 16 for youth in grades 3-6. We’ll make candy ladders that look like DNA strands and learn about the building blocks of life.

Join the library’s adult book club - On the Same Page. This club will meet 6:30 p.m. the third Thursday of every other month. Books will be loaned as availability allows.
The reading schedule includes the following: “Black Cake,” Aug. 17; “Home Before Dark,” Oct. 19; and “Firekeeper’s Daughter,” Nov. 16.

Join state Sen. Nick Miller, D-14th, for storytime 11 a.m. Aug. 23. Toddlers to kindergartners, with their caregivers, are welcome. An activity will follow.

August’s museum pass spotlight is Eastern State Penitentiary, 2027 Fairmount Ave., Philadelphia.
Eastern State was once the most famous and expensive prison in the world but stands today in ruin - a haunting world of crumbling cell blocks and empty guard towers. Explore Eastern State Penitentiary through one of its many guided tours.
Museum passes are free with your LCLC library card. The pass allows entry for up to six guests into the museum. Passes must be checked out and returned to the library circulation desk. Late fees apply.

The library will hold a book sale 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Sept. 22 and 23. The bag sale will be noon-3 p.m. Sept. 23 at $5 a bag.
The library is currently accepting lightly used books and media for the sale.

Help the library by participating in Boscov’s Friends Helping Friends program. Donate $5 to the library, and you will receive a shopping pass to be used Oct. 18. Passes may be obtained at the library.
