The deadline for entering The Great Allentown Fair’s 10 culinary contests has been extended to Aug. 14, according to a news release.

These contests offer cooks and bakers extra incentives for entering their favorite recipes or challenges them to create new dishes.

All contest applications and registration forms are available in the fair office and online at allentownfairpa.org/contests. The fair office is located behind the Ritz Barbecue on the fairgrounds at 17th and Chew streets. Office hours are 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

Fair special culinary contests, sponsored by PenTeleData, are the Buttered Crumb Crumb Cake, SWEET girlz BAKERY Fruited Cookie/Bar, King Arthur Flour Filled Cupcakes, PA Preferred Junior Baking Cookies, Brownies and Bars, Clover Hill Vineyards and Winery Homemade Candy, Pampered Chef Fruited Tarts, Bechdolt Orchard Fresh Peach Dessert, Sparkle with Jeanine and Park Lane Jewelry Best “NO BAKE” Dessert, Vynecrest Winery Homemade Chocolate Cake and Grim’s Orchard and Family Farms Blue Ribbon Apple Pie.
