Northampton: Butterfly waystation dedication is set
There will be a dedication for the monarch butterfly waystation at Canal Street Park Aug. 15, beginning 10:30 a.m. The location of the waystation is near the gazebo.
A number of monarch butterflies of different levels of growth are expected to be released at the event.

Reminder: Grace United Church of Christ, 902 Lincoln Ave., is having a hoagie and sandwich sale. The hoagie options are Italian or tuna, and the sandwiches are ham and cheese or tuna.
Orders and payments are due Aug. 13.
Order forms can be picked up 9 a.m.-1 p.m. weekdays in the church office or downloaded on the church website at graceuccchurch.com.
The pickup date is 4-6 p.m. Aug. 16 at the church.

Northampton Area Public Library will be hosting a true crime reading and question-and-answer session with Massachusetts author John Olszewski 6:30-7:30 p.m. Aug. 16 in the community room.
You must be 18 years of age or older to participate. It is advised to not attend if you are sensitive to discussions of violence or explicit content.
Olszewski has written two books. The discussion will focus on the first one, “The Long Dark Walk,” released in 2019, about his experiences corresponding with some of the world’s worst killers.
The talk may be of interest to both avid true crime readers and the casual reader filled with curiosity and questions about the evil things humans can do.

The last day to order a Hometown Heroes banner is Aug. 18. All forms and payments must be received by 4:30 p.m. that day to be eligible for a banner honoring military, police, fire or EMT personnel.

Holy Trinity Nursery School, 1235 Main St., is currently registering for the 2023-24 school year.
The 2-year-old playgroup class will meet 9:30-11 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays. Class size is limited to 12 children, who do not need to be toilet trained for this class.
The 3-year-old class meets 9-11:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Class size is limited to 16 children, who need to be toilet trained.
The 4-year-old class meets 12:15-2:45 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Class size is limited to 16 children, who need to be toilet trained for this class.
Children must turn the appropriate age for the class by Sept. 1.
