Miniatures club hosts 44th annual show

Press Photos by April Peterson Lehigh Valley Small on Scale Miniatures Club welcomed visitors and fellow enthusiasts to its 44th annual show and sale at the Delta Hotel by Marriott, Breinigsville, July 16. The array of exhibits included everything from finished projects built by club members to tiny details such as flowers, fountains, desserts, lighting fixtures and other items to fully imagine and build small worlds. The fountain, complete with swimming “fish,” is among items for sale at the Mini Maniacs Miniatures, LLC, table. The “water” is created with layers of resin, owner and fountain builder Stephanie Watt explained.
A tiny seaside cottage resides within a tea cup. The project was created by Mary Breidinger, a member of the Lehigh Valley Small of Scale Miniatures Club. “There is no limit to what you can do [in miniatures] and it's satisfying,” Breidinger said.
A chicken coup, complete with tiny hens, straw and other nuances, is among items displayed by vendor Karen's Dollhouse Shop, based in Clinton, N.J.
An admirer of this elaborate room box was overheard to ask if it was a depiction of a dramatic scene in the stage spectacle “Phantom of the Opera.”
Tiny blooms are among the offerings by vendor Artistic Florals of Deer Park, N.Y.
A sweet treat is home to a tiny soda shop, a popular hangout for tweens and teens in the mid-20th century.
This finished facade conceals a spacious two floor dollhouse, accessible by first moving the entrance stairs before opening the front panel.
An inviting small world makes its home in a teapot.
Tiny pastries and other desserts are on offer for purchase. The one-day show celebrated its 44th year July 16.
