At the Aug. 3 Lower Macungie Township Board of Commissioners meeting, the conditional use for Langston Equities LLC’s Lehigh Valley Town Center project was approved. Representatives from Upper Macungie Township and South Whitehall Township attended the meeting to extend their support of the project.
The project has 53 conditions. The next phase of the project will include the land development which will include traffic issues, stormwater management, lighting, parking, landscaping, signage, hours of operation and others.
A conditional use hearing was held for 801 N. Broad St. This project is proposed by Prachi Realty. The proposed development will include seven residential units and two office units and is located near Hamilton Crossings with a portion of the project neighboring a mobile home development. Other residential units are nearby. A private residence will be eliminated for this project.
Concerns about traffic were expressed by residents of the mobile home community. The conditional use for this project was approved.
Resolution 2023-41 was approved. This is a three lot subdivision at 2072 Elbow Lane. Currently there is a single family residence on the property; this will allow for two additional building lots.
Resolution 2023-42 was approved for Raising Cane Drive-thru. This development is located in the Trexler Business Center, near the Movie Tavern with close proximity to the new drive-thru Wawa.
The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission has sought access under the bridge in Camp Olympic Park. A long-term agreement was approved for this request through Resolution 2023-43.
Additional lighting was requested on Lincoln Drive in Hills of Lockridge. This was approved. There is a need to purchase a leaf vacuum truck. This is grant funded but has not been approved as of yet. There is a request to purchase the chassis and cab from Lowe and Moyer Garage for $140,866. This was approved. An attempt was made to purchase a Mack Truck but there was no accommodation for this.
